Studio Director/Head Coach:
Walter Alza (Get Rich Or Die Tryin’)
Walter Alza is known for his Leading and Character work, his knack for picking up accents and his ability to effortlessly portray both drama and comedy within his work. According to CTV E-Talk Daily, “Walter is Canada’s very own bad boy.” This stems from his portrayal of a vicious Colombian gangster Raoul in the drama Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (2005) with 50 Cent and Academy Award nominee director Jim Sheridan, while Star TV called Alza a “scene stealer” for the same role. Another part that got the media and the public’s attention was his supporting role as the eccentric Russian waiter named Slavic in the CBC Series At The Hotel with director Ken Finkleman, co-starring Don Mackellar (Blind) and Carlo Rota (24). John Doyle from The Globe & Mail said, "Walter Alza is delicious as the testosterone - driven, boorish waiter "Slavic" in At The Hotel.” Meanwhile, Alza can still be seen nightly on OMNI TV playing the suave ladies man, Andreas Maradona, in the award winning Toronto TV show Metropia. And most recently you can catch Walter as the Funny/Edgy Serbian Sasha in the multiple awards winning feature film Gangsters Exchange playing in theatres in the US and on Rogers pay per view and Bell Express Vu.
Currently Alza is working on several projects in different capacities. Directing and Producing: Clive Houston, We have a Problem, starring and written by Brendan Jeffers (The Weight), to be shot in Feb 2010. He recently secured a distribution deal for the Feature film Pay in Full in which he did not only star, but wrote the screenplay, directed and produced. Alza also produced and directed Open Your Eyes Katarina; a dark drama following a troubled woman looking for her inner light. And finally in its’ last stages of production is The Adventure of Fuming Chu starring Jasmin Geljo (The Sentinel, Gangster Exchange, Land Of The Dead) in which he starred, wrote and directed.
