Actor / Biography
Walter Alza is an award-winning actor, director, writer and producer whose work has crossed Canadian, U.S. and international film and television for more than three decades.
Known for his ability to inhabit characters from different cultural backgrounds and nationalities, Walter has built a screen career encompassing drama, comedy, leading roles and distinctive character work. His ear for accents and physical transformation became part of a range that allowed him to move between sharply different characters and genres.
Among his most recognized screen performances is Colombian gangster Raoul in Paramount Pictures' Get Rich or Die Tryin', co-starring 50 Cent and Terrence Howard and directed by Jim Sheridan. His television work includes Ken Finkleman's At The Hotel, in which he played Slavic alongside Don McKellar and Carlo Rota, and the award-winning series Metropia, where he played Andreas Maradona in a principal role.
His credits also include Special Correspondents with Ricky Gervais, Eric Bana, Kelly Macdonald and America Ferrera; He Never Died starring Henry Rollins; Blood Empires; Three and a Half; and the multi-award-winning feature Gangster Exchange.
Walter's career has been recognized with the ReelWorld Trailblazer Award and a City of Toronto award for his achievements as an actor, artist and philanthropist. His work and career have been profiled across Canadian, American, Latin American and international media.

Walter's commitment to storytelling expanded into filmmaking with the launch of Alza 44 Films Ltd. His work as a director, writer and producer has included feature films, shorts, pilots and projects developed for Canadian and international audiences.
Pay In Full, his feature-film debut as a filmmaker, acquired Canadian distribution across Rogers VOD, pay-per-view and additional networks. Clive Houston, We Have a Problem won Best Foreign Film at the 2010 Nevada Film Festival.
